Low Power Mode & Battery Usage Tool

One of the features that I absolutely love in iOS 9 is something called Low Power Mode. It's a feature that's been available under a different name on Android phones for awhile and it has finally come to Apple's iOS software. 

If you've seen your battery dip below 20% and you're on iOS 9, you've probably seen a prompt that asks you if you want to flip on Low Battery Mode. Going forward, that would be a smart thing to do because it will help you conserve without shutting off all of your connections like Airplane Mode.

This is one of our favorite iOS 9 features and it's one of the reasons why we haven't looked back at the iOS 8 update. If you're a power user or if you just want to protect yourself from running out of battery in critical situations, think about downloading iOS 9.

If you already use the Battery Usage tool in iOS 8, you're going to love the additions that Apple's made in iOS 9. If you haven't used the tool before, you probably will once you get the iOS 9 update up and running on your device. 

Settings now includes a brand new Battery section that includes this upgraded battery usage function. It still shows you which apps are eating away at your battery but it now displays more in depth information that will help you crack down on the apps affecting your battery. 

If you tap the little clock icon in the right corner, it'll show you how much battery apps drain in the background and when the screen is on. That will come in handy if and when you encounter problems with battery life because you'll be able to easily track down the culprit. 

It's a small change but it could have a huge impact on your device's performance. And it's a reason why I love the iOS 9 update.
