20 Exciting Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Rumors
As we move deeper into the year, we’re starting to hear more about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, a device that is expected to replace the Galaxy Note 3 later on this year. In the past month alone, we’ve heard a number of exciting Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors and here, we take a look at what we’ve seen emerge.
Last September, Samsung took the stage at an Unpacked event in Berlin, Germany and debuted the Galaxy Note 3, its highly anticipated successor to the Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy Note 3 remains on shelves and is considered, by many, to be one of the top Android smartphone options available to consumers.
Like all great smartphones though, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s days will come to an end as Samsung presses forward with devices that feature newer technology.
While it may not be getting the same kind of attention as the Apple iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note 3’s rumored successor, has been leaking out consistently over the past few months. Rumors point to a heavily upgraded smartphone, capable of challenging big name devices like the Galaxy S5, iPhone 6, and LG G3, and one that could serve as a very solid replacement for the current Galaxy Note.
We haven’t seen every single Galaxy Note 4 detail leak to the surface just yet but we have a pretty big pot of rumors. Everything from its launch date to its screen size to its processor have been rumored in the first five months of the year. It’s a lot of information for consumers to absorb.
Well, we are in the business of making things easier for smartphone shoppers so we want to take a look at the biggest and most exciting Samsung Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors to date. Here is everything we think we know, right now, about the device that will almost certainly join the Samsung Galaxy S5 on shelves later on this year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Launch Date
Let’s start with the basics. 1. First of all, we know that a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is on the way. We’ve seen Samsung executives casually confirm its arrival several times since the start of the year so it’s clear that we’ll see some kind of Galaxy Note 3 successor arrive later on this year. Well, unless they’re lying. We don’t think they’re lying though.
Typically, the first question that consumers always ask about a rumored smartphone is: ” When is it coming out?” It’s a valid question, particularly from those that are dealing with a semi-broken device or have come off-contract. And while we don’t have an official date just yet, Galaxy Note 4 launch date rumors and details have zeroed in on a specific part of the year.
2. Earlier this year, Samsung executive Dennis Miloseski told Recode that the company planned to bring a new Galaxy S to shelves in the spring and a new Galaxy Note to shelves in the fall. 3. Another Galaxy Note 2 launch clue came from a Bloomberg report citing a different Samsung executive. This executive was less specific but she also confirmed an arrival in the second half of the year.
The candid responses were a little surprising but the launch date window was not. Samsung always announces the Galaxy Note in the fall and more specifically, at the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany.
4. A recent rumor from Android Geeks, the same site that accurately leaked last year’s Galaxy Note 3 launch date, suggests that Samsung will take the stage on September 3rd and announce the Galaxy Note 4. This is peculiar given that IFA 2014 doesn’t kick off until September 5th but it does fall in line with rumors.
The exact date isn’t too important at this point. What is important is that the Galaxy Note 4 launch date clearly looks like it will land sometime in the fall and quite possibly in the month of September.
Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date though given Samsung’s penchant for releasing devices just a few weeks after launch, a September and October release isn’t out of the question.
Design
Samsung is known for keeping its designs under lock and key prior to its launch events. While we hear rumors, the designs themselves usually don’t emerge until just before the launch event, if at all. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, we didn’t know what it would look like until Samsung announced it on stage. That hasn’t stopped Samsung executives from blabbing about the Galaxy Note 4’s design though.
5. In a report from The Wall Street Journal, Lee Younghee, vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, proclaimed that the company is looking at bringing a flexible display to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. 6. Yoon Han-kil, senior vice president of Samsung’s product strategy team, recently told Reuters that the Galaxy Note 4 will be coming with a “new form factor” when it arrives later on this year.
While a flexible display might not be a given, there is a very good chance that the device will come with a new form factor. Unlike Apple, Samsung never uses the same design twice. The Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5, for instance, look vastly different than their predecessors. Samsung, like its competitors, is always working to make improvements and unsurprisingly, the Galaxy Note 4 design is rumored to feature some.
7. Galaxy Note 4 rumors also point to a rugged design and a fingerprint sensor, two features that arrived with this year’s Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 features a fingerprint reader embedded inside of its home button. 8. The Galaxy S5’s plastic design is IP 67 certified, meaning, it’s both dust and water resistant.
Display
9. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors have continually focused on a flexible, “bent”, three-sided display. However, as one Samsung official recently noted, the feature still isn’t final and could ultimately be cut from the final version of the Galaxy Note 4. It wouldn’t be the first time that Samsung cuts a rumored feature from the final version of a smartphone and it wouldn’t be the last.
Recent patent filings show new form factors that Samsung could be toying with in its labs but they don’t confirm the look of the Galaxy Note 4 itself. the closest thing we have at the moment are these Galaxy Note 4 concept photos from Ivo Marcic that depict a Galaxy Note 4 with a flexible “bent” display.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen new Galaxy Note 4 display rumors float to the surface. 10. A recent report from GSMArena suggests that the Galaxy Note 4 will keep the same screen size as the Galaxy Note 3, 5.7-inches, but that it will come with a higher resolution display, similar to the upcoming LG G3. 11. The site claims that the Galaxy Note 4 display will feature QHD 1,440 x 2,560 resolution.
A flexible 5.7-inch QHD display would be a costly endeavor, but at this point, it’s impossible to rule out. Remember, at the beginning of the year, Samsung said that it would be targeting the high-end market with its next Galaxy Note.
Specs
12. The well-sourced evleaks says that a device with model number SM-N910, believed to be the Galaxy Note 4, will be coming with 32GB of internal storage space. The Galaxy Note 3 also came with 32GB of storage.
13. Rumors also point to a 64-bit processor, something that would put the device on par with the iPhone 6. 64-bit processors can handle more memory than 32-bit processors, something that is important for high-performance devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note.
14. It’s also rumored to have support for LTE-A, also known as LTE-Advanced. Carriers in the United States have been slow to adopt the service but we’re finally beginning to see carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon bring these faster data speeds to their customers. Just in time for the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4.
Software
We’ve also started to hear about the Galaxy Note 4’s potential software upgrades. A new report detailed four possible Galaxy Note 4 software features that Samsung is evidently testing on the Galaxy S5 ahead of the Galaxy Note 4’s arrival.
- 15. Smart Fingerprint – It wasn’t fully detailed but it’s assumed that it has something to do with being able to customize a fingerprint reader for certain actions.
- 16. Multi Network for Booster – Could be similar to the Download Booster feature on the Galaxy S5 that combines Wi-Fi and cellular data for faster download speeds.
- 17. Swipe to Launch Motion Launcher – Could be similar to Motion Launch on the HTC One M8.
- 18. Aqua Capture – Possibly similar to the Aqua Mode found on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Aqua Mode allowed Galaxy S4 Active users to take photos underwater.
These aren’t confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as everything probably depends on the testing process behind the scenes. We still haven’t heard anything regarding its S Pen.
Carriers
19. evleaks claims that the SM-N910 is going to be heading to all five major carriers in the United States including AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The past two Galaxy Note models arrived on those exact same carriers. In other words, there is a very good chance that this device is the Galaxy Note 4.
20. He also says that the SM-N910 is heading to Bell in Canada. That’s exciting for those in the hunt in Canada.

On your first point.” We don’t think they’re lying though.” Why don’t you think so? Wasn’t it a lie when they said the GN3 was going to be released with 16/32/64 Gb internal memory? Or have I missed something? I haven’t found a 64gb model yet.

Apart from the higher resolutions, better battery life and 4GD RAM, Galaxy Note 4 are rumored to be launch with inbuilt qi enabled back case that means could be easily charged by placing it on qi charger. If these rumors are true, then it will be definitely on the list of my next gadgets that I am looking for.

I would like to have that old-book-style on Note 4 what we currently have on Note 3. Also same backcover. I don’t like S5’s backcover but I love Note 3’s. And… curved things are not welcome to my phone >:-)
