Microsoft Releases Windows Live Suite Betas

Amidst all of the Apple hoopla yesterday (they released something new in case you didn’t know) Microsoft released new beta versions of some of the Windows Live programs wrapped up with a central installer. New beta versions of Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Writer, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live OneCare Family Safety all got rolled out for users to play with. Not being a fan of some of the Live applications but a dutiful tester I decided to check out the beta’s of Live Writer and Live Messneger last night. Both apps seem to be performing well, but the new installer package is nothing short of a mess. I believe Vista installed faster on an Asus R2H than these two apps did. If you’re rushing to get into the cloud, Microsoft, you really need to take the cement boots off of the installer.
