HP Announces MV2120 Media Vault – File Access On The Go

Mobile folks need access to data from wherever they are, a problem HP is hoping to solve with their announcement of the MV2120 Media Vault, available now for $299.

• RAID 1 Capability
• Storage: 500 GB, plus 2 USB 2.0 ports
• Back up and share data and media across your home network; automatically back up important files 24 x 7
• Add protection: back up the media vault’s contents to an external hard disk and store in a separate location
• Remotely access files and applications from any Internet-connected PC
• Stream media files to your home entertainment center or PCs on your network
• Share photos and files with friends and colleagues by creating a photo Web site on the media vault; you can also give visitors permission to add their own files

In addition to the MV2120, HP also announced the MV5100 Pro series, which is available in 1 TB and 1.5 TB storage capacities. The MV5100 is targeted to small businesses. (link unavailable at this time)
