Ballmer: Windows Cloud OS To Be Unveiled In A Month

This could be a game changer for Microsoft Ã¢â‚¬” a new OS code-named Windows Cloud that is aimed at developers writing cloud apps. Look for an official announcement in about a month:

Within a month, Microsoft will unveil what Ballmer called "Windows Cloud." The OS, which will likely have a different name, is intended for developers writing cloud-computing applications, said Ballmer, speaking in London to an auditorium of IT managers at a Microsoft-sponsored conference.

According to the Infoworld acticle, this new OS would not put Office on the web, but would allow for ““light editingÃ¢â‚¬Â. I’m not one for the whole cloud computing thing, preferring a seamless sync model. However, this could open the door to a lot more possibilities.
