Some New Features On GottaBeMobile.com

Published

on

I just wanted to take some time to let you know of some changes to GottaBeMobile.com since we launched just a few days ago.  We have listened to your comments and feedback (Thanks for that) and have put into place some features that we hope you enjoy.  We also wanted to let you know about a feature that was part of the site that some might be wondering how it works.

1.  Post times are now on each post.  This feature was on the old GBM, but wasn’t in the new theme when we launched earlier this week.  For those that want to see what news has been posted since their last visit, now it’s even easier!

2. Subscribe to comments — There is a check box now under the comment box.  If you have a valid e-mail in the comment, check that check box and when somebody replies you will receive an e-mail for each comment on that thread.  Wonderful way to keep track of the conversation!

3. Have you noticed the images next to some of the posts?  That service is from Gravatar.com. Head there to register your e-mail and each time you comment with that e-mail, your display picture will be posted alongside the comment!  Kind of a fun way to express yourself!

We’ll keep you up to date on our site progress and any new features, hope you’re still enjoying the new look!!

And one last thing — make sure to check out the sidebar to sign up for you daily dose of GBM via e-mail!

    New RSS feed address, too?
Did anyone post to the old RSS feed to update those who were told last weekend that there might not be any postings for a while? (I checked, then updated myself.)

Well now, let’s just see if it picks up my Gravatar! :)

I’ve never been big on comment feeds, although it’s always a nice option for those who do.

@sfwrtr – the feed should have converted transparently. We use Feedburner and they handle that for us so no feeds are lost in the process. Did your reader not pickup the new posts?

Thank you all again for your ridiculously hard work you’ve put into the site. I love the new layout, but I really appreciate the decision to remove the Google banner from the left-hand side of the front page. I know ad money is extremely important to the site, and I think this strikes a great balance of the content mixed with the ads.
