Got MacBook, Want Tablet?

Published

on

image Apple may not have a great pen or touch interface in OS X, but for those current MacBook owners wishing they had a tablet instead, there is hope.

Axiotron is now offering Modservice, which will take customers existing MacBooks and magically turn them in to a Tablet PC — all for the low, low price of $1299. The magic comes via a mod kit that authorized service providers will install. To figure out if a ModBook is for you, be sure to watch our InkShows where we cover the ModBook, Apple Ink, and Windows Vista on the ModBook

and a BRAND-NEW MacBook costs how much? Oh yeah – the same amount. So they’re asking people to upgrade their computer to a Tablet instead of buying a brand-new computer. Good luck, unless hundreds of MacBooks that are perfectly good but are a) out of warranty and b) have defective screens (since the screen is replaced in a Modbook) so they are sold for only $400 or something start to flood eBay.

Hopefully there will be a mod for the new macbook (and pro?) soon so people could get rid of the ugly glossy screen
