Forest Ridge School Swivels In To Action With Lenovo Tablet PCs

Forest Ridge Schools of the Sacred Heart are putting ink to screen as they just deployed 330 Lenovo X61 Tablet PCs to teachers and students. I’m not sure why they went with X61s instead of X200s, but it is still a good thing to see the tablets deployed and being put in to action. There is nothing better for tablet adoption than getting them in to the hands of students.

Lenovo today announced that Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, an all-girls’ school located in Bellevue, Wash., deployed 330 Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet PCs to help give teachers and students new and dynamic ways to teach, learn and engage technology-savvy students in grades 5-12.

Forest Ridge administrators selected ThinkPad X60 Tablets and X61 Tablets because the Tablet PCs give them sturdy yet lightweight technology with easy-to-use features, along with multimedia and touchscreen capabilities that make computing simple for students.

    I paid big bucks for my x61 a few years ago. It's still a good machine. I'm sure they got a decent price on it since it's not the current model. There's something to be said for proven technology.

    We (Forest Ridge ) deployed these over the past 2 years actually. If the x200 was out when we placed our orders, it's probably what we would have gone with. :)

    It's probably good they used the x61. The 16:9 aspect ratio is poor for document review, for which I would suspect a lot of teachers would use a tablet.
