I need this because the image capture tools I use currently are inadequate

I need SnagIt to be able to easily capture and work with the images I download for my classroom PowerPoints, etc.

I am currently using the trial version of SnagIt. It is a great tool for preparing presentations, which I am doing more of now. I would love to have the license before I actually have to pay for it.

I need SnagIt to be able to easily capture and work with the images

I teach computer science at a community college. I use screenshots in web pages I create to help my students use the various development environments. https://www.genghiskhent.com/information/vc2008.html is an example. I use an older screen capture program (FullShot 7) which was OK in its time (2003) but nowadays is pretty limited and also doesn’t work well with newer OS’s. My college won’t pay for licenses for a screen capture program (California budget crisis) and I already pay a lot out of my own pocket for other software (and hardware) I use to teach. I’m sure there are others more deserving (sbtablet has my vote) but if you happen to have a license left over, that’s how I’ll use it. Take care, Jeff

Well, I have used this product for nearly a DECADE now, and it only gets better, but i haven’t been able to upgrade in several versions now. This would be SWEET

    ALT-PtrScn is quite insufficient!

Using Snag-it is way better than using PrtScr or even than using the snipping tool. Using Snag-it I can organize my screen captures. With Snag-it I can also make quick and useful image edits.
    That’s why I want Snag-it!

SnagIt is an indespensible tool. Currently, my employer uses an older version of the tool and it makes collaboration and discussion so much easier when you can just grab what you see easily. I tell everyone about it and encourage them to use it as well.

I could use SnagIt to cut and past portions of documents and figures into the presentations I periodically prepare. As a graduate student in EE I need the ability to be flexible and precise at the same time.

Snagit is terrific. I use version 8 but really enjoyed the trial of 9 and so would love to continue the experience with 9.1. In particular the fact that 9 retains the copies you make is VERY handy.

I want to get it because its an amazing program that I use at work, but I can’t get a license for home. The image capture is very handy for e-mails, and posting pics online.

I usually use FSCapture, but I’ve tried SnagIt and I like the drawing tools much better and the program is more professional and flushed out. I use it for snapping screenshots for documenting tutorials, processes, etc.

I want it just because it works..

I want it because I am always looking for tools that will help me be more organized and make my life easier. A good screen capture program will definitely be useful for both.

I would love to have this to play with, but if I am lucky enough to win, I will regift my license to sbtablet or to Jeff/Genghis Kent. ‘Tis the season, and I have tremendous respect and admiration for educators going above and beyond to make an active personal effort to make good use of technology. They’re providing such a valuable service to their students and thus to our society as a whole. Salute! I think it’s wonderful that TechSmith has made these licenses available for the giveaway, too, so salute to them as well :-).

I need it, because my SnagIt 8 is incompatible with the EndNote software that I use for organizing bibliography. Every research article causes a lot of pain, because of the permanent Word crashes caused by this incompatibility.

SnagIt is great because it offers automated post-capture image-processing features. For example, I reduce the color-depth and save the capture to my clipboard…for pasting in Journal.

I also like the fact that it captures video and supports DDE (so that it can be controlled by another program).

I’d like to snag a copy of snagit!

I do a lot of capturing for tutorials and for more productive work, so a nice tool do that (instead of just the “Snipping tool”) would be awesome!

I use the Snipping Tool a lot; it was one of my most appreciated original Tablet PC Edition features. Would love to move up to Snagit for it’s additional editing and organizing tools.

Snag-it would be a step up from the snippinf tool. I would probably gift it to my son who is in college for use in his research projects

SnagIt is a great tool, that would help me to get more productive in my Ph.D. research. Due to budget reasons, I currently use ALT-PtrScn for screen capture, which is quite burdensome due to all that post-processing. So winning a SnagIt-licence would really be great.

Need it for school and research when I do documentations and reports.

I just went to Techsmith web site and WOW! I currently use OneNote screen capture or I highlight info on web site and Print to PDF Create. Both methods have many drawbacks compared to the Snagit feature list. Looks like I have been missing an excellent program.

SnagIt would really help in quickly pulling in everything I’m seeing. Wouldn’t have to do the old Ctrl-PrScrn and open Photoshop and add comments then save picture then try to file it away usefully and what not. I want to streamline my capturing.
When I’m training someone how to use a website and video conferencing won’t work, this would make things soooo much quicker.

I am going to be starting a blog soon on multi-touch technology and a good screen capturing program is a must have! Thx.

I use SnagIt at work and have been very impressed with how simple and stable it is. I would love to have a copy to use at home as well.

It would be great to have a copy of SnagIt in my Christmas stocking this year! Something to play with; I get jazzed by learning new things. I’ve never used it, I’ve just heard people rave about it.

Come on Santa – pick me!

At first, I wanted to leave some witty reason, but after reading some of the responses especially by that prof from California, I think I don’t deserve the license. Nonetheless, here’s my original idea (just for sh*ts and giggles):

I want SnagIt 9.1 because I never participated in the Snagit 8 giveaway.

I am a blogger and snagit would be such a help while doing reviews. I could snag images easily to post with my reivews.

I occasionally take some screenshots to illustrate how to use some software to colleagues of mine or to insert in powerpoint presentations. I’ve been relying on free software, but I’ve read nothing but praises for Snagit, so a free license would be most welcome.

My husband is an artist and sculptor and he saves reference photos from all over the ‘net of interesting works, elements he likes, etc. This would be really useful for him. Unfortunately, my GBM eNewsletter is timestamped 12/12, 7:46am, and the contest is already over. I’m really bummed that the official source for information would be useless.
