CES 2009: Windows 7 Beta Going Live

hh_promo_windows7_cropped1 During Steve Ballmer’s CES 2009 Keynote address tonight he more than confirmed the rumors that the Windows 7 Beta would be going public soon. It is going live on Friday and you can go and grab it  from this link. You can find out more about Windows 7 here. I don’t think we’ll be installing the beta this weekend due to all the work we have ahead of us. (See how hard we’re working here.) So, if you go and grab it, make sure you post up your first impressions here in the comments or the GBM Forums.

More coverage of the Ballmer Keynote can be found on Engadget and Greg Hughes has some good audio posted as well.

    1. If only N-trig would update their XT Windows 7 beta drivers now…

    2. Very exciting.

It says the beta will expire on August 1st of 2009.
What does that mean? Does that mean Windows 7 will just stop working? Would we be able to revert/downgrade to Vista?

    3. I’ll be installing it on my Dell Latitude E6400 this weekend, so I’ll let you know how it goes… got it downloaded last night, and I’m really looking forward to trying it out!

    4. Trying this morning but server is busy. :( Will try it on my MSI Wind and dual boot with Leopard.
