GBM InkShow: Netbook Shootout

netbook shootoutDuring CES, we had the rare opportunity to have four Netbooks (or whatever you want to call them) on hand for a head-to-head comparison: Lenovo’s S10, Samsung’s NC10, HP’s Mini 1000, and HP’s Mini 2140 (not officially a Netbook, but close enough for our purposes). We compare the keyboards, touchpads, power buttons, ports, sizes, screen glare, resolution, boot times, and more.

Video after the break.

    1. If I had to pick now I’d pick the Samsung NC10 but later the HP 2140 when it has 1366×768. The Dell Inspiron mini 10 also has my interest. If Lenovo really wants back in the game, they should make a enterprise netbook with a Thinkpad design.

    2. Hi Guys,

Great review. Just wanted to let you know the HP Mini 1000 does not have HDMI but it is a special port for an optional VGA dongle that HP will be selling later in January. They will also have a 6 cell battery option available as well. I will be posting a small netbook review between the HP Mini 1000, Dell Mini 12, Asus N10J, and the HP 2710p hopefully by this weekend in the forums and maybe you can throw it on the main page. Thanks for your hard work!

    3. Good video and overall report- enjoyable shootout! Would like to have the announcers use the actual product name in testing than ‘this one’ and ‘this model’ for folks who are not so familiar .

Good comparisons- liked the HP 2710p best.

      Thanks!
