Windows 7 Rocking This OS X User’s World
Windows 7 is giving Techno Cop, a dedicated Mac OS X user, some serious consideration about switching back to a Windows platform. Being a Mac OS X user, too, I can certainly understand his dilemma and overall impressions with Windows 7:
As a someone who performs almost every computing task on a Mac (for the past one and a half years) and tells anyone who will listen that the average consumer should be using a Mac instead of a Windows machine because of security and usability, I’m starting to prep myself for the single moment that I thought would never come: I’ll be using a Windows 7 machine as my main computer and telling anyone who will listen that, believe it or not, using the latest Microsoft operating system is truly worth it – once again.

I really think that Windows 7’s success thus far is a strong testament to Sinofsky’s leadership on the Windows side of the Microsoft house. His teams were kept in check on the Office side in recent years, and now he seems to be tightening the reigns on the Windows side (and it’s about time).
If I were on the senior board at Microsoft right now, I’d be giving serious thought into replacing Ballmer with Sinofsky as the head of Microsoft. Ballmer needs to go back to his marketing focus and leave the corporate leadership to stronger hands, in my opinion. Microsoft marketing used to be top-notch, and I don’t know if Ballmer has felt overwhelmed with everything or if he just hasn’t been as involved in it, but I think most would agree their marketing efforts have been very poor in the past several years.

Some can handle very well on small projects as it seems that they can handle the bigger things. Sinofsky is such person compared to Baller, except Ballmer’s balls are indeed bigger and harder which requires for this kind of business. What Sinofsky lacks is not leadership but the whole dynamics dealing with business and big balls politics. The flaws of corporate economics requires this kind of leader. If not, Mirosoft will turn into a wimp like Apple that takes 15 years really to catch up and now its future still extremely uncertain.
I support Ballmer not Sinosfsky.

Well I’m really not sure how you’ve come to that opinion, but I suppose it doesn’t matter since that’s not what the topic is about.
I have been using Windows 7 on my home laptop for a week now and am still finding improvements with it over the experiences I’ve had with both XP and Vista. I have a new tablet on the way (the Woot special from yesterday), and I have my work laptop that I am going to be installing W7 on this weekend for use in the corporate environment.
The only complaints I’ve had are minor, and the types of things that I know will see some improvements along the rest of the development cycle. It may just be Vista SP2 the way some are calling it, but it’s doing for Vista what XP SP2 did for the XP environment, and that’s a great thing!
