Windows Live Movie Maker Leave You Wanting?

When folks begin moving en-mass to Windows 7, one of the tools they’ll miss is Windows Movie Maker. That’s because Microsoft decided to remove it from the base Windows install and incorporate it into their Windows Live offerings. However, it is stripped down and doesn’t offer near the features that the built-in Vista Movie Maker version offers. The good news, though, is that Microsoft has made Movie Maker 2.6 available for download and it works in Windows 7. So if Windows Live Movie Maker doesn’t float your boat, head over and get that download.

    Keep in mind that Windows Live Movie Maker 2009 is the only component of Windows Live Essentials that is still classified as “Beta”, and the development team seems committed to wrap up development by the time Windows 7 ships.

    For what it’s worth, I think it’s cause they rewrote it from scratch. If nothing else, it sounds like they’re finally making a “OneNote” out of a “Journal” with the old Movie Maker.

    Pinnacle VideoSpin (free version of Studio) is far better than Movie Maker…. and so more stable !
