Asus to Phase Out 8.9 Inch Screens in 2009
In a move that can only be called totally expected Asus is going to be phasing out the 8.9 inch screen size models in 2009 and focusing on the 10 inch model. With the 10 inch screen appearing to become a Netbook industry standard this only makes sense on a number of levels.
According to DigiTimes, Asus is projecting that 95% of their sales will be of the 10 inch models in 2009.

I’m sure they have run the numbers and the 10-inch models will make more money, but some kind of VAIO P model would be cool, too.

lame. smaller is better. why would i want to use a 10inch netbook when i have a 12inch laptop? the difference in size is negligible.

I’ve been using an Acer C111 since 2003 and think it’s a great size for a laptop. Anything smaller I would not want to use, unless it’s a device for some other purpose.

I wonder if Acer feels stupid for killing off the C110 now. That was my favorite form factor tablet ever.

They’re announcing the phase out of 8.9″ models when they haven’t released the T91 yet? Huh. Does this mean the T91’s been shelved?
