Microsoft MVPs and the Phones They Use

Published

on

At the recent Microsoft MVP Summit, (which I was unable to attend, sadly) Todd Ogasawara   did a video survey of Windows Mobile MVPs to see which phones they were currently using. As expected from a gaggle of Windows Mobile MVPs you’ll see a number of WinMo phones (and multiple ones for   most of the gang.) You can check the video out after the jump.

What’s of interest here though is that I saw a tweet from Rob fly by on Twitter/FriendFeed last week during the Summit that said a group of Tablet PC MVPs were having dinner together and at that dinner 5 of 6 of the Tablet PC MVPs were sporting iPhones. Had I been there it would have been 5 out of 7.

I would have bumped it to 6 out of 8. What I’d like to know is how that compares to the slate vs. convertible breakdown. I started as slate user. I still use my convertible in slate mode most of the time. I view the iPhone as a tiny slate tablet. I’d be interested in seeing if other slate/slate-mode fans feel the same.

What tablets are the MVPs currently using? :)

I personally wouldn’t mind having a nice, light, 10-in Atom-powered slate with an active digitizer and a hot-swappable battery good for 5-7 hours; a microphone and possibly a webcam for VOIP would be wonderful too. :D I wouldn’t mind so much if it had an embedded version of Windows XP Tablet ed. with an instant on/off capability. I wouldn’t mind if that embedded OS just had programs like OneNote (and the rest of the MS Office 2007 Home/Student ed.), Inkseine, ArtRage, Skype, Live Mesh, and a Web Browser (and enhanced support for Web Apps). :D
