Office 2007 SP2 Available Today

office-2007.jpgAt some point today Microsoft will be rolling out Service Pack 2 for Office 2007.   From what I’m hearing he performance tweaks in Outlook are worth the price of admission (OK, I know it’s free, but apparently things do speed up in Outlook 2007 quite a bit.)

For a list of what fixes are included follow this link. OneNote users should take a look at Daniel Escapa’s OneNote Blog for what’s what in the Service Pack 2 for OneNote.

I havent’ seen links for the downloads yet, but we’ll update when we do.

UPDATE: Here’s the download link. You should also be able to pull this down via Windows Update.

It’s about time! :) I was almost beginning to wonder if they would even bother to ship an SP2.

Wow. First load after the update, Outlook takes a bit longer to run. Now it’s incredibly fast. HUGE difference.

Microsoft software is so shitty, and has caused me so many serious problems – so many times, that I don’t even think it’s worth paying for.

07 is just the same crap stupidly repacked for another upgrade cycle.

What? 280M for the service pack, AND the removal tool is a separate download…..

What was so wrong with it that it took 280 Meg of EXTRA data to fix it?

The WHOLE of Open Office (.org) is about 120meg…. and it’s the ENTIRE software suit – and it’s free, and it’s way plenty good enough for pretty much everything.

There is NONE of this bullshit “basic, home, academic, small business, corporate and enterprise” crippled and rip off versions either – the Perpetual Microsoft Bullshit Trip.
