Amazon Updates Kindle App for iPhone

002 Here’s a nice surprise that I discovered while quickly browsing feeds this morning. Amazon has updated its Kindle for the iPhone App adding a few new features. First up, the app now will rotate from Portrait to Landscape mode and there is a lock switch to keep the rotation from happening once you’ve decided how you want to view the screen. That’s a great touch. Amazon has also added a couple of ‘themes’ that allow you to change the background and text colors to make reading easier on the eye. You can now also pinch and zoom in on images and tap the screen to turn pages.

All welcome changes in my view.

    1. amazon is slowly making it a much harder decision to buy a Kindle – especially if Apple comes out with their fabled large iPhone / tablet device.

    2. @Rob Agreed- I told my family members to hold off on the original Kindle until some kinks were worked out. Same advice on the Kindle 2 and DX.

I think Amazon would make a killing if spread the Kindle software love to other devices, including Windows.

    3. Love my Iphone/Kindle app!
