Evernote’s Learning to Share

Posted by | 06/25/2009 | 0 Comments

Evernote continues their evolution from application to service by adding notebook sharing to their offerings. As reported on the Evernote Blogcast, Evernote Premium users can now invite others to participate in shared notebooks and give them privileges to edit, update, add, and delete notes. Free users can also share their notebooks, but without the ability to grant editing privileges to others. This view-only option appears functionally identical to the public notebook option, as my public Evernote notebook has been switched to the new sharing system.

They are calling this “Phase I” of their move toward sharing and collaboration, so more is on the way. Judging from some of the comments over the OneNote vs. Evernote battle, I think this move answers the needs of a good chunk of would-be users and gives Evernote stronger footing against their top competition.
