Hello,
to Bluetooth work in your Windows 7 installation?
I have installt Windows 7 too on an J3400 (Build 7100).
Everythink itÃ‚Â´s fine, but no bluetooth is there!

Dell had a fantastic discount on the J3400 – over $1000 off on a price of $3306 – and I purchased one. Unfortunately, I think that the special offer is over. You can still get a $500 discount from Motion Computing by participating in one of their Web presentations.
The J3400 is a superb tablet PC. I agree with the few shortcomings that are outlined in the review. The add-on keyboard is a must. It works well except for the lack of a vertical tilt adjustment.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 (64 bit) version 7201. The previous build caused the dreaded blue screen of death (BSOD) on initial start-up. 7201 installs and runs without any problems. You do need to download and install all of the Vista drivers from Motion. A few of these are tricky to install, but all work properly. Windows 7 is a significant improvement over Vista which even Microsoft is abandoning.
Our J3400 has the 1.4GHz CPU, 4 GB of RAM and the 64GB solid state drive (SSD). Response time with this hardware configuration and Windows 7 is excellent.
We haven’t tested the cellular connection. WiFi and Bluetooth work properly. The Qualcomm GPS has very poor sensitivity. It couldn’t pick up any satellites at a location at which a Globalsat Bluetooth promptly acquired 7 satellites. My recommendation is to forget the Qualcomm and use the Bluetooth connected Globalsat receiver.
The purchaser show be aware that there can be considerable confusion about which options are included in a given hardware configuration. Dell, for example, lists the CPU speed as 1.2 rather than 1.4 GHz and the RAM as 2 GB rather than the actual 4 GB. Bluetooth, which wasn’t listed, is included.

I hope Rob does not do a speed comparison, because it’s unfair (SSD vs. HDD, 1GB vs. 4GB) and useless, because both use the same platform and same CPU type. So in real life they are almost equivalent, the J3400 with a negligible faster CPU, the ST6012 with a larger and faster HDD.
I hope he focuses on useability, ergonomics, button placement, important things.

And yes, the price for this tablet in Germany is a joke, shame on you Motion Computing.

I went back to a regular notebook after my LE1600 broke – the j3400 would have been great, but the pricing here in germany is amazing.

I would think the 4g ram and SSD made a big difference when fujitsu has only 1G ram and slow HD. maybe make the specs comparable before doing a comparision.

joe, i second you on that ! a smaller j3400 (with the new wacom multitouch penabled digitizer) would be what i’ve searched high and low to replace my venerable, discontinued, ls800.

That price is just absolutely ridiculouse.

I just hope someone from motion reads this and realizes that they are pricing themselves out of the market in old Europe.

Thanks for checking. I am eager to see your thoughts on the comparison between the Fujitsu and the J3400. Having just tested both (to make a purchase decision), I found the J3400 to be much more impressive. It is difficult to quantify exactly why, but one thing is that the J3400 was much, much faster with Vista. The Fujitsu seems slow — and crazy expensive for the specs, as compared to the J3400.
