I see your point. However the J3400 is too rugged for my tastes. I would be very very happy if motion updated the LE 1700 Line with the chipset of the J3400. Until then, I'm saving up for the Garage-built non-OEM Modbook.

jim - not discounting small manufacturers. What I'm saying is the ModBook can't be ordered from the OEM like that - it is a mod, retrofited. Same logic applies if I go an alienware laptop and decide to retrofit to a slate and then start reselling that modified Alienware and supply a warranty. I don't see a custom mod'd Alienware resellable slate in the same ballpark as an OEM original design and offering.

I understand Anthony's and your point, but until I can order it from the original OEM with those specs and as a slate (Alienware / Apple start selling a slate), I see the ModBook as a MacBook custom retrofitted with a digitizer - good specs and custom built tablet pc.

Well, in defense of Anthony's point, this isn't really a Hackintosh, it does come with a warranty, etc., and if we're discounting small manufacturers then Motion itself may be questionable as compared to Fujitsu, Lenovo or Toshiba.

@anthony - let me buy it from Apple as a slate (without mods, etc) and then let's talk, ok?

Nice to read this, and great that they sent you such a tablet to review.
Sadly, in this configuration it's a very very expensive tablet, and with the 1.8" SSD with very limited space. And if you don't have that much money and have to buy a HDD version, then it's one of the slowest tablets again, sadly.
Additionally it's absurd how much this tablet costs in Europe.
Else, it's a well looking slate tablet.
