Parody: Apple Gets Pulled from Google Search Results

Apple is taking it on the chin when it comes to parody today. First was this wonderfully funny satire from The Onion of the entire Apple fan boy culture featuring an invisible iPhone called the 3GI. I understand that 3GI was actually ranking high in search results after this came out.

And speaking of search results, BBSpot has published another parody post claiming that Google, to exact revenge for Apple not allowing a Google Voice app, Google is pulling Apple.com from all of its search results. Here’s an excerpt:

Google’s official explanation for removing Apple from its search results came from Vice-President in charge of search, Marissa Mayer, “Those search results duplicate a lot of the functionality of other sites. For example, people can find cell phones on many other sites. We just think this makes it easier for our users.”

Funny stuff. So funny that Marissa Myer actually got caught forwarding it around, but she then deleted the Tweet. A friend asked me earlier today why there wasn’t a parody about AT&T and all of its failings. My response? Tough to turn tragedy born out of stupidity into parody.
