What Apple Thinks of Netbooks

I’m glad Gizmodo grabbed this shot out of the Apple event today. I guess it says a lot about what Apple thinks about Netbooks. Of course the photoshop wiz’s are already at it, as you can see from the comments on the Gizmodo post. (Imagine what we’ll see when and if Apple does release a Tablet.) The picture with all of the talk about a computer in your pocket might hint to what we won’t see in an Apple Tablet. Think coffee table, not mobility.

It would be a lot more compelling if they used a sport jacket pocket. I was hoping to get some guidance here – I am getting a new sport jacket and told them to hold off on the size of the inside pockets until later today.

if Apple telephones can connect to AT&T then maybe they’ll be useful

I think it just speaks to what should actually be made: a laptop-like device that DOES fit in your pocket! Like the UMID M1 minus some of it’s obvious deficiencies (not the least of which is having such limited distribution in the US)

I would say if and when Apple is ready to release one, Steve will just say something else that makes such form factors “The Best Thing the Homo Sapiens Have Ever Seen”.

They are masters at how to make some small evolutionary steps look like Armageddon-like events.
