A Dual Screen Netbook? But Why?

Published

on

I guess there are no limits to innovation and coming up with clever mobile gadget solutions. This certainly isn’t for me, and I’d have a hard time calling it a Netbook, but Kohjinsha is showing off a dual screen Netbook at CEATEC. Brad at Liliputing asks a lot of the same questions I’m asking about battery life (can’t be great), processor choice (AMD MV-40), and possible price point.

Dual screens on a true netbook? Not enough horsepower in my opinion, and the screens would be too small. Dual screens on a reasonably powerful laptop with 14″ or larger screen… as a telecommuter I’d love it. The one thing I currently miss from my office environment is the real estate provided by a dual monitor desktop set up, and having it in a portable form factor would be a huge bonus. In particular the sliding mechanism shown here would be preferred to that used by Lenovo in their W700 model.

I kinda like it. You can have a browser on 1 screen and your favorite capture program on the other and just drag and drop all day long.

I guess battery life is out the window…
