Dual Monitors on the Go

Published

on

I use multiple displays when I’m working in my office to boost my productivity. When I’m on the go I really miss all of the screen real estate. After watching Josh Smith’s video demo of  MaxiVista I think I’m going to start using multiple displays outside of my office.

I usually bring more than one PC with me to conferences and trip, but only use one at a time. Using my netbook as a secondary display in my hotel rooms would be a lot more useful than just leaving it in my backpack when I switch off to my larger computers.

Using a spare notebook as a secondary display would also be nice when I’m working on my couch.

Would a dual display setup like the one in the video below fit into your mobile lifestyle?

IT would be great. I have gotten so used to having multiple displays at work and a huge 26 inch display at home. When I’m mobile, I often look for my second screen subconsiously

Not only does this setup fit into my mobile lifestyle, it also fits right perfectly int my home lifestyle. I use MaxiVista with an old Notebook as a secondary Monitor, since my x200T’s screen is a little bit small to get a lot of work done.

Definitely. I use MaxiVista for a couple of months and love it.

I’d use it on the go…if not for the fact that my only mobile computer besides my TC1100 is an old PowerBook G3 that can’t run MaxiVista for obvious reasons.

However, where I have considered using it is at my desk, where my TC1100 in its docking station serves as a sort of second monitor to my flagship desktop, but isn’t-more like two computers connected with that software KVM awesomeness known as Synergy.

Why have I held off, you ask? I’m in extreme penny-pinching mode at the moment.

It’s two years I use MaxiVista, a fantastic product. My office setup is laptop + external 19″ LCD + Motion M1300 via MaxiVista (3 monitors!).
