Microsoft to Offer Windows 7 Netbook Upgrade Tool

Posted by | 10/22/2009 | 1 Comment

Microsoft will be offering a Windows 7 upgrade tool in its opnline store to ease the transition for netbook users from Windows XP to Windows 7.  The tool will walk netbook users through the process of moving a downloaded copy of the Windows 7 installer over to a USB driveand make it bootable. Many netbook users have been struggling with how to upgrade to Windows 7 without an optical drive. The tool does require a BIOS update in order to recognize the USB drive, which isn’t ideal though.

I know this isn’t actually the place for this, but the forum is entirely broken for me today, I get an access denied error when I try to start a new post, reply to old posts, or start / reply to a PM.

Gives an “Access Denied” error, and something about my IP range.
