Concept Folding Plug Makes Other Plugs Look Dumb

Thin and light devices are often slimmer than their power bricks. Unfortunately, innovation in power adapters just hasn’t kept up. The PC and smartphone you’re using today probably looks a heck of a lot different than the one you were using five years ago. But your power adapters probably haven’t changed all that much, if at all.

In addition to dealing with thick AC/DC adapters, our friends in the U.K. have to deal with thick plugs. Simon Mackie from Web Worker Daily spotted a concept design for a very cool folding plug that could make Brits a little more mobile if it ever finds its way into production.

The end of the video also shows a better international adapter model.

As long as the plug retains its durability (let’s face it, if your plug snaps in half, it won’t matter how thin it was), I could see that design being a hit.

The inventor should probably hire someone else to make the pitch for her though… even Ben Stein’s voice is more enjoyable.
