What’s Arriving Tomorrow?

So, I made a Black Friday purchase of a new computer. It arrives tomorrow. I’m shifting my strategy slightly as to how I operate day to day. Any guesses as to what it is?

Uh… you bought the eight-function bicycle computer for $24.99 on Amazon and you are going to start biking to work. ;-). Maybe you should have picked up one of their Asus or HP netbooks (please not the premium priced pink HP) to help lighten the load while biking.

  2. my guess is that you’ve invested in an ultra-mobile tablet/UMPC and will be forcing yourself to work from that while on the go. Only resorting to a larger device when absolutely required. Something along the lines of a Viliv X70 or S7?

A Zhu Zhu Hamsster and Habitrail!!! You are sooo lucky, man!

    13″ MacBook Pro

The new Archos 5 IT… :) how about you give us a hint. Whats the weight of the item.

Not that this narrows it much, but I think Campbellsville, KY has a warehouse for Amazon.com.

But based on http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=2236672011&ref_=amb_link_86141231_1&tag=notebookscom-20, the only Amazon “featured” computer deal on Black Friday was:

    HP G60-501NR 15.6-Inch Black Laptop

But I think I’m on the wrong track here. Warner would never buy a 5.6″ laptop with a CELERON processor in 2009 – sub-$500 pricetag notwithstanding. But hey, he DID say he was “shifting” his strategy.

I take it back – I think he bought the HP Mini.

  8. Well, it arrived this morning. The correct answer goes to Rob, (who had no fore knowledge of the purchase) and I’ll be posting to soon as to how I am shifting my strategy.

I know my friend all too well!

  10. Congrats on the purchase. I think you’ll enjoy it immensely. :)

Welcome to the darkside Warner……..we have cookies…

Expensive, yes, but I reckon it’s the best laptop there is. Others can argue about best ‘value’ but out of all the tech I’ve owned my 15″ Macbook Pro has been my best purchase. The 13″ is a great portable device.

One question. How are you going to ink your theatre notes on this? :-)

Hmm I think Rob had some insite knowledge of this… JK :) Yes congrats Warner. I have been using Mac’s and my latest purchase was the Uni body Macbook which Kevin had mention on a few things that I was worried about. I had a MacBook Pro 15″ so I was worried about some things but it turned out to be a great powerful machine for what I use it. Now you can have both Snow Leopard & Windows 7 or other OS’s running if you want.

I’ll be very interested to see how this pans out. I run a 15″ MacBook Pro (February 2008 rev) as one of my setups. One thing I have never been able to do, though, is mesh the creative work I do on the MBP with the inking organization that exists on my Tablet and UMPC. If Warner can figure this out…but I guess you could use a Bamboo with the MBP and ink in something like Evernote?

I’ll be interested to hear if the solution is a kluge, and how it compares to natively inking in Win7.

Congrats on joining the Mac world; it should be a fun ride.
