HP 2740 Elitebook Tablet PC Hinted

Published

on

I think everyone who has been following Tablet PCs (not just Apple Tablet rumors but Tablet PCs) has been anxious to see what HP would do with the follow up to the Elitebook HP 2730p Tablet PC. Well, we’ve seen the first hint that it might actually be on the horizon courtesy of a post on Engadget.  According to the post we’re looking at Spring 2010. Can’t wait to hear more about this one as I think HP is the only company currently working Tablet PCs that can give Lenovo a run for their money.

What makes you write off Fuji?

Speaking of Lenovo, have they announced anything besides the leaked timeline for the x210t?

What’s wrong with the new Lifebook T4310 and T4410? Then I hear there is an update coming to the T5010.

Not writing Fujitsu off, but they need to show that they are still in the game. So far, they aren’t moving anything forward enough to excite me.

yes, it’s totally boring that Fujitsu will release the first Core i7 tablet PC, totally boring.

I do agree with Warner on the fact that none of the big tablet pc vendors have done anything particularly new. If anything they have just updated their existing products.

So far only Lenovo came up with something new and fresh (U1).

In the meantime HP is carrying the former tx line forward with steady updates and improvements. If I may highlight that their tx series convertible has been the cheapest that actually delivers good touch/inking experience (I own a tx2050 myself). So in this light they actually deserve more credit that they actually get….

All in all HP is definitely a game changer in their move and it is great to see that they are still on board with developing the tablet pc platform in their business class products as well…

Hope to see all other manufacturers coming up with their stuff. The tablet pc platform as we know it would most likely die without them…

The Elitebooks are very interesting, and the Lenovo’s have good acceptance on the corporate side, but I would like to agree with CLC above – don’t count out Fujitsu – they’ve been in the tablet game longer than anybody. Sure they’re pricey, but oh my, the build quality – – which is probably why I own two aging Fuji tablets that I refuse to take out of service.
