Evernote gets tags for emailed notes @software #Evernote

While I am an avid Evernote user, very few of my notes are actually produced in the app or web app. Rather, most of my notes get shot in via email. Only problem with that was the notes only went to the default notebook and could not be tagged. Well, they’ve fixed that.

If you’ve never used email to send notes to Evernote, please give it a try. Any content you can attach to an email (within limits if you’re not a premium user) goes right in through a special email address in the format “[username][email protected]”. And it can be routed and tagged by using @ and # in the subject line.

  • Use @ for notebooks: Use an @ symbol followed by the name of your destination notebook
  • Use # for tags: Use a # symbol followed by the tag or tags you wish to assign. You can have multiple tags just make sure each one starts with an #

Going to be a big help for me. I toss in ideas from work, grab audio, photos and text on-the-go from my iPhone, and save documents for anywhere access from my Tablet PC, all via email. Formerly I had to organize those notes later, which I took forever to get around to going. Now I can organize them as I go.

    Very helpful,
    thanks a lot Sumocat.
This will be of great help and save me a lot of time.
Do you know a way to give the note a user defined title instead of “untitled note”?
If this were possible, evernote mail would be perfect!

The email subject line should show up as the note title w/ tags removed.
