It’s Raining Lenovo Devices Here: X100E, X201T, S10T

When it rains it pours. I haven’t had much time to do many device reviews lately and not that the time issue has changed much, but it looks like I’ve got my hands full in the immediate future.

Lenovo has just sent three devices for us to check out. The Lenovo X201T Tablet PC, the S10T Ideapad, and the ThinkPad X100E. I am looking forward to spending time with each of these and cranking out some InkShow reviews over the next week or so. Let me know what questions you might have or what you want me to explore on any or all of these devices.

One thing I’m going to say right now about the X100E. The small size of this device with everything that Lenovo has included makes it very intriguing option.

I may have a question about your definition of the word “us”. :Þ

Please start with the Lenovo ThinkPad X201T Tablet.

I am still using an Eee PC 900 HD but I am looking to find somethingnew with:
    – more processor power
    – 4-5 hours battery life
    – tablet mode
    – possibly light weight
and I think the X201T, while expensive, is the only deviec matching all my needs

Xavier has nailed it. Thomasin will be looking at some of these devices in addition to me. I thought about inviting Sumocat over but I don’ think he looks good in pink fur.

Would very much like to see the inking experience. These days it isn’t always clear if “the tablet is (multi)touch enabled” also means inking enabled.
Would also like to know more about the ergonomics. Are they heavy to hold, What is the inking experience when writing on a lap, handheld or on a desk?
Does multitouch mean that the windows 7 onscreen keyboard can be operated with serveral keys simultaneously?
    Your experiences…please!?

Yea! I love your InkShows, Warner. Being in theatre, you have flair. Being an inker, you care about what I care about. I really want to see ink and/or onscreen keyboard typing. Will we get to see you in pink?

thinking about one as a replacement for my X61T…

I would like to know how the x201t holds up to its battery claim, and if the multitouch screen is crisp and clear enough compared to the superbright outdoor (nontouch) version.

I would like to know if X201T can wake up from hibernate/sleep properly even if it has hibernate/sleep for several hours. (This is a problem in x200t)

And what is the sleeping battery life? how long can it sleep?

Also, it would be nice if we can have the “real weight” of every device…..by “real weight” I mean the weight with reasonable options chosen. (NOT the “starting weight” mentioned by the manufacturers and I suspect that they didnt even put in a harddrive when they are measuring it)

Looking at the Lenovo line, and others, and based upon your team’s access to the industry, should we expect to see anything with a resolution above 1280 x 800 in the next couple of years ?
