Published

on

If you are a excited about the Galaxy Tab and want to be notified when new information about T-Mobile’s version, you might want to head over to T-Mobile to get signed up early. They have a sign-up for you to get information when it becomes available.

I am sure you all have heard about the Galaxy Tab right? You know, the Android tablet that people are going gaga over already. The one “iPad” Killer? Yes. That one. Aren’t you all getting sick of everything becoming an iPhone or iPad Killer? Was the iPad the Tablet PC Killer? I think you see where I am going here. Anyhow, the Galaxy Tab is a 7″ touch screen tablet by Samsung that should hit every carrier soon enough. I hear that the T-Mobile version is expected before Christmas.

I know that many of the GBM staff has iPads already, myself included (it’s for my kids really).  Any of you plan to grab one of these? I am seriously considering it, but it is hard to justify with the iPad already.

If as they say… The US version won’t have a phone option… Then, this will be a bust for Samsung as far as business users… It ends up to be just a copycat of the Ipad. Useless! We don’t need another shiny toy. We want new devices that combine some of our lame old ones that we must still use on a daily basis. NO PHONE NO DEAL.. I heard that the European version will have voice. Why sell us a stripped down version of a seemingly cool product. What’s Samsung thinkin???? They’re drinkin the “carrier coolade.” Do they really think we really want multiple devices in our briefcases. I’m sure there will be a better version of this kind of product soon. Dell and Htc seem to think about new “gadgets” through a consumers eye. I won’t be getting this for the holidays if it comes out of the box as a brick…

Nanananana, we in Europe can get this with GSM (our mobile phone protocol). Because you don’t do GSM in the US, you can’t get it with a phone functionality ^_^. I’m sure as cookies going to get this sweet phone/tablet/gadget/ereader.

Nanananana? What are you 5? Both T-mobile and at&t “do GSM” in the US. You can get off your holier than thou European superiority trip. Even if the US had no GSM carriers there are plenty of Android phones on CDMA. Since this is essentially the same hardware on a bigger screen a CDMA tab that makes voice calls would be no problem. You clearly don’t know jack about this subject.

This is just Samsung for whoring itself out to the US carriers by removing features. Sumsung sells more tabs at the lower subsidized price, in exchange for the subsidy the carrier can get you into two contracts one for a phone one for this.

That’s fine. Those intelligent among us who really want it, will just buy the thing and tether it to our rooted phones and we won’t be holding a seven inch tablet to our face to answer a call.
