AT&T getting the iPad on October 28th too

Sumocat let us know yesterday that Verizon was selling the iPad starting October 28th. They put a great marketing spin on it and bundled it with a MiFi so you can get data to the device. Well, AT&T also announced yesterday that they will be selling the iPad starting on the same day. The difference is, you can use the iPad on AT&T’s network.

AT&T and Apple today announced that all three iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available at more than 2,200 AT&T stores starting Thursday, October 28. AT&T will offer customers 3G Apple iPad Data Plans, complete with Apple’s easy, on-device activation and management. All iPad data plans are available without a term contract and include unlimited access to AT&T’s 23,000+ domestic Wi-Fi Hot Spots.

The funny thing about AT&T finally offering the iPad is that I remember during the announcement of the iPad, there was something, somewhere that said that AT&T would be carrying it. When I finally broke down and decided to get one, I stopped at the AT&T store 1st, only to find that they didn’t carry them… yet. I ended up getting the WiFi/3G model at Best Buy the same day though.
