Demo of Sprint ID on the Samsung Transform

Published

on

I shared some info about the Samsung Transform and Sprint ID last week and I did a video 1st look the other day. Now I have another little video that shows how Sprint ID works. At first, I thought the concept was a little silly, but after checking it out for myself, I see where this could be really popular with Sprint customers. I don’t think I would use it, but I am sure many will.

Sprint ID allows users, on select Sprint devices, to quickly download ID packs that deliver a predefined experience, including applications, widgets, ringtones and wallpapers, all at once. Packs are designed to meet customers’ interests – for instance, whether they are a sports fan, fitness fanatic or auto enthusiast. The packs could be brand-specific; allow users to easily switch between English or Spanish; or are specifically tailored to the customers’ business or line of work. The marketplace of Sprint ID experiences is growing and customers can have one or up to five on their device.

I can see this being a great start for users that are not into taking the time to download each individual app they might want or need. The Sprint ID packs make it easy to install widgets and wallpapers too. 1st time smartphone or Android users could benefit greatly from the ease of adding these ID packs. Like I said, I don’t think I would want to use them and accept all the extras you’d get. I don’t really like having too much extra junk on my devices.

Yep Chris you got that right. But you know, there are a few fields where this might be a serious advantage. Business, government, and education have needs involving shared content, applications, and mobility. Now if there would only be some way to get unsuspecting consumers to pay for the privilege of working out the bugs……
