Stall Surfing Goes Bad

Xavier Lanier —  10/20/2010

Warner Crocker is our resident stall surfing expert and is one of the few tech writers that openly discusses how gadgets perform both in and out of the bathroom. Last we heard, he’s using his iPad, which means he’ll never have to suffer the way one Chinese mobile phone user did.

Chasing after a phone that’s been flushed down a toilet is a losing proposition.

  1. Wow, that is a bad situation. I wasn’t stall surfing at the time, but years ago I had my first mobile device, a Palm based Handspring, in my shirt pocket, bent over to pull up my pants and BLOOOP, down it went. Had that sucker for about three days before that happened. That was supplied by my office and I had to pay for the replacement. I think it was $150. Valuable lesson. Of course, it didn’t get flushed. I grabbed it before it even sank to the bottom, but it was too late.
