Motorola Droid Pro Will Manage Your Work and Play Life When It Launches on Nov. 18

Motorola’s Droid Pro will launch come this November 18th but will be available for pre-sale starting November 9th for $180 on a two-year agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate will be targeted directly at Research in Motion and its enterprise grasp with its BlackBerry smartphones. The Android-powered Droid Pro will come with profiles, a pretty unique addition to an Android device, that will manage your work, play, and weekend life. Under each profile, users can set their own homescreens, apps, and widgets so that each profile can be uniquely created to meet their lifestyle–play can have a fun homescreen with adorable ringtones while users can play up their corporate-centric facade with a professional theme and classic ringer for the work profile.

According to Android Central, the profiles feature of the Droid Pro is akin to Sprint ID with their pre-packaged feel.

Fast profile switching has been a popular feature on Nokia’s E-Series smartphone running the Symbian operating system and has shown up on the E71 and E72 devices, both of which offer a front-facing QWERTY keyboard, like the Droid Pro and the BlackBerry devices. Easy profile switching and management not only offers a way to customize a phone from the user’s perspective, but also offers added value.

HTC Android phones had this feature since the HTC Hero. It is called “Scenes” and you can have as many “Scenes” as you want as long as you have the memory.

Yep…have had Scenes on my HTC Incredible…guess Motorola is just catching up. And what’s up with that keyboard…it looks even more fat-finger unfriendly than the one on my work Droid 2.
