Viewsonic G Tegra Tablet Reviewed: Not Magical

Published

on

It’s impossible to look at any slate device without comparing it to the Apple iPad. The Viewsonic G is no exception, and unfortunately it’s simply not magical according to our friend Avram Piltch from Laptop Mag. The Viewsonic G tablet utilizes long-awaited NVIDIA Tegra technology, which should give it a boost in the graphics department.

One of the biggest problems with the device has nothing to do with the hardware. Laptop Mag panned the device for not having an app store, access to Android Market or no-brainer apps like Google Maps and Google Talk. The Viewsonic G also appears sluggish.

The Apple iPad is far from perfect, but for now it looks to be a much better alternative than the $399 Viewsonic G. The average consumer will still be able to do more with the iPad without having to get creative and poke around.

Head over to Laptop Mag for more details and the full review (coming soon).

We recently reviewed the Herotab M802 and I have to say that for half the price the only thing about it that wasn’t as good as the ViewPad is it’s lack of 3G support.
