1Password for Windows Passes Out of Beta to V1

Published

on

1Password is an excellent password manager for the Mac platform. The Windows version has been in beta for awhile now, but that beta has ended with the release of version 1 of the software.

Agile Web Solutions the makers of 1Password are giving users a chance to get $10 off in celebration of moving out of beta, so the cost is $29.95 instead of $39.95. 1Password can store a lot of info for you and have it at your fingertips. You can use it to create and store strong passwords anywhere you’re looking to work on the web. I use it on all my Mac and iOS devices and will be installing it on my Windows devices as well. A handy feature for iOS devices users is that you can do some syncing of your data either Over the Air (OTA) or via WiFi.

what does it offer over something like keepass or lastpass?
I realize keepass does not having built in syncing.. but a lot of people work around it with dropbox and the like.
I don’t know how well that works out on mobile platforms though.

I’ve never used the other options you refer to so I feel hesitant to comment. Others should feel free to chime in though.

As much as I like the interface of 1Password, there is no way I’m going to pay for another licence on Windows. I have it on MBP, ipad and iphone and it’s great but pay for another licence for windows? I say no. That’s why I’ve defaulted to using Lastpass as I find myself spending 95% of my pc time on bootcamp (windows 7). Unless I’m wrong I believe the windows licence is only good for one pc. This is the exact reason I ditched Roboform. LastPass is the way to go.
