Google Does Add Some Tablet Support in Gingerbread

Yesterday’s Gingerbread (Android 2.3) news from Google almost seems like it was meant to be passed by quickly, given the spate of announcements today about all things Chrome and last night’s news about Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). But, thanks to eagle eye Brad Linder of Liliputing who links to these guidelines it looks like there is some news that Google did add some developer support for Tablet screens into Gingerbread.

Basically this tells developers what they need to do in order to make their Apps work well with the multiple and various screen sizes on the market. Of course that leaves it up to the developers to adopt the guidelines. It will be interesting to see how Apps follow along, but then we’ll need to start seeing some updates for the OS first.
