Verizon Joins Google and Gives Away Free Data on Chrome OS Netbook

Published

on

Verizon Wireless announced today that it will be partnering with Google in pushing Chrome OS netbook adoption by giving users 100 MB free data every month for two years for every netbook purchase. The carrier is saying that plans will start from $10 per month, with no contracts, no activations (nor activation fees), and no cancellation fee. If priced accordingly. this could potentially do for netbooks what tablet data plans have done for tablets–when it was launched, the iPad’s hassle-free, contract-free affordable data plan offerings helped spur adoption of the Apple tablet on AT&T’s network.
