While Huawei had announced the Ideos X5 and X6 earlier, more details are now emerging for the Android smartphones, which may see a CES debut. The specs, reported by Nexus404, indicates that the X5 will launch with Android 2.2 Froyo but will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread at a later date:

  • Android 2.2 Froyo
  • 3.8 inch capacitive multi-touch display at 800 x 480
  • 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, auto-focus and 720p video recording
  • 1500 mAh Lithium Polymer battery
  • HSDPA and HSUPA
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support
  • 3.5mm headphone jack

The handset will also support Android Market as well as Google Apps, such as Gmail, Google Talk, Google Search, and Google Maps with Navigation. It will be pre-loaded with Aldiko for EPUB e-books.

The CPU is widely believed to be clocked at 1 GHz, though that has not been confirmed.

Regarding the Ideos X6, an earlier announcement indicates that the high-end Android smartphone will feature a 4.1-inch display, HSPA upt to 14 Mbps, WiFi, GPS, Dolby Mobile surround sound, HDMI output, a 1 GHz CPU, and 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture.
