Iomega SuperHero for iPhone Backs Up Contacts and Images While Charging

Today at CES 2011 in Las Vegas Iomega announced the SuperHero Backup and Charger for the iPhone, a new iPhone accessory that backs up your pictures and contacts every time you charge your iPhone.

While iTunes will back up this information when you sync to your computer, many users don’t connect to iTunes on a regular basis which could lead to lost pictures or the contact information of a potential date or investor.

The Iomega SuperHero backs up to an SD card, the unit ships with a 4GB SD card and users can replace with a bigger card if needed. The dock doens’t connect to your computer, just an electric outlet.

The backup is done with the free SuperHero iPhone Backup App which is available in the Apple App store.

The Iomega SuperHero is compatible with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3. You can back up multiple iPhones with the dock so that everyone in your family is covered. The Iomega SuperHero will retail for $70.
