Motorola Atrix for $149 at Amazon.com, $599 w/o Contract

Published

on

Amazon.com is selling the Motorola Atrix 4G Android phone for $149.99, which is $50 less than buying direct from AT&T. The price is good for new customers, those adding a line and existing AT&T customers who are eligible for an upgrade.

As we pointed out earlier, there are some price discrepancies, with some customers being quoted different contract-free prices when enquiring about the Atrix. Is the discounted price $599 or $699? At Amazon.com the Atrix’s contract-free price is clearly stated as $599.99, a $100 discount off the $699.99 MSRP.

The Motorola Atrix can be docked with a device that resembles a notebook. Unfortunately, Motorola’s priced it at $499.99, which is out of the range of what most consumers will be willing to pay.

This is really a great peice of kit, but AT&T’s “4G” network is a joke. I’m seeing slower speeds on the Atrix 4G than an old HTC Aria.

This phone is a piece of junk compared to the competition that’s coming. Galaxy s2 for example, currently available over seas. The only thing that makes the atria worth getting is the notebook accessory and it’s and additional 500 bucks. Motorola needs a reality check
