Motorola Xoom Unboxed

Wirefly, a wireless reseller, unboxed a Motorola Xoom on camera today. We came away impressed by the Motorola Xoom when we played with it at CES 2011. Motorola’s new tablet will launch later this week for $599.99 with a Verizon subsidy.

The big news with the Motorola Xoom is that it ships with Honeycomb,  the first version of Android designed specifically for tablet devices. The Xoom’s 10.1″ display is big, even bigger than the iPad’s display.

The design is pretty clean, with only a handful of I/O ports and plugs. An AC Power adapter is included for charging since it requires more than 5v for charging while operating. There’s also a micro-USB, which can be used to trickle charge the Motorola Xoom.

Many users complain that devices as large as the iPad can be unwieldily, but  others prefer the extra screen real estate.
