Target Joins the iPad 2 Frenzy

Published

on

It looks like Target will join Wal-Mart, Best Buy AT&T and Verizon, as locations where you can line up to purchase an iPad on Friday, March 11. I don’t know if we’ll hear about more outlets as the week goes on, but I’m sure we’ll hear more about the how’s and why’s of ordering as well as rumors about stock being low. Already there have been some inklings that Apple will allow on-line ordering to take place beginning at 12:01 AM on March 11.

Call me curious, but I’m wondering with gas prices rising like crazy if Apple decided to save some money and opt out of its usual pre-order and deliver quickly method.

Target will also be allowing customers to utilize its trade-in program with first generation iPads.

So, if you’re planning on getting an iPad 2 on launch day, where are you planning on standing in line? Or will you wait and order on-line? Let us know your plans.

I will be going in order of convenience – all the stores are on the same strip, so I will go to Sam’s Club, Target, Best Buy and then Walmart …

I’ll be doing the same as Michael- on my way home from work I can hit up the Walmart first, then a Target, and maybe–depending on how tired I am at that point–Best Buy, which is farther away. Do you think people will be lining up early in the day at Walmarts, Targets, and Best Buys like they do at Apple stores? I’m also curious about inventory- I wish I had a better idea of which store is my best bet to score one, seeing as how I will be at work till like 4 that day…

My wife has an Apple gift card from her employer, so we’ll be at the Apple store, unfortunately.

Just curious – I hadn’t heard anything about a Target trade-in program. Do you have any details or links you can share? Thank you.
