AT&T Windows Phone 7 Devices Won’t Get NoDo Update Until Mid-April

Published

Microsoft has gone ahead and updated their “Where’s my phone update?” page, which now indicates that testing for both the pre-NoDO and the NoDo updates on AT&T Windows Phone 7 devices will end sometime in early April.

Samsung Focus

Once the testing is complete, the February and March updates will be moved into scheduling mode, which means that we should be looking at a mid-April NoDo roll out for the LG Quantum, Samsung Focus and the HTC Surround. As Microsoft points out, the scheduling process takes around 10 business days meaning, two weeks from the date that testing ends.

As many AT&T owners know by now, the pre-NoDO and NoDo updates have begun rolling out to the HTC HD7 and the Dell Venue Pro, both of which are on T-Mobile. It’s unknown how long that roll out will take but it seems like a very good majority of owners are already enjoying copy and paste.

Like the T-Mobile roll out, AT&T owners should expect the update to roll out to the devices in a simultaneous fashion rather than a staggered roll out.

I hope both of the AT&T Win 7 phone users can wait that long!

I love mine. Might not be as popular as my old iPhone, but it just works better. This update wait is ridiculous though, especially when you’re trying to scramble for what market share from WinMo6.5 you lost. I enjoy this phone as it is enough to give it a full year to see how much MS is willing to invest. After that, I think I’ll give android a second chance.
