ThinkPad X220 Tablet Unboxing Video With Docking Option

Published

on

The ThinkPad X220t is the latest business class convertible tablet to arrive from Lenovo, bringing full core processors, 16 hour battery life and many other improvements in a package that weighs under 4 pounds.

The X220t has a 12.5″ 1366×768 multi-touch display with a 300 Nit rating and is a semi-rugged device. We’ve tracked down what looks like the first unboxing of the Lenovo ThinkPad X220t, which includes a look at the X220t docking accessory.

The ThinkPad X220t has many of the same features as the ThinkPad X220, which does not swivel around and support pen input, but does have almost the same chassis and spec list. You can see our ThinkPad X220 review, where the Ultraportable took home an Editor’s Choice award, over at Notebooks.com. Much of the review will apply to the tablet model.

Love how he fakes cutting the box open for the “first” time.

All of the first batch of X220 Tablets were inspected. The review unit that I got had the tape cut.

No sure about the ergonomics of the 6 cell battery. Looks poorer than my X60T. Curious about the inking experience of the tablet with the gorilla glass with outdoor specs. touchpad overdone in my experince. Very unfortunate that there is no eight cell. Would have been a nice compromise in terms of mobility. 12,5 inch…GOOD. Is close to the european A4 paper standard. Nice to see that the WACOM pen has become a trusted recurrence.

Thanks for the video. I too would have liked to see a demonstration of the handwriting experience to see how taking notes looks and to see how well the handwriting recognition software works.

Lenovo sells computers so they won’t demonstrate software that often. But software is what Windows tablets need.
