This looks like a real boon for students who are sight impaired. Arizona State students created a solution using OneNote that will make it easier for students who have difficulty reading notes on boards at the head of a classroom. They call their system Note-Taker. It involves a camera that can be controlled via gestures on a Windows 7 touch enabled Tablet PC. The camera enables the students to view notes a professor scrawls on a board close up on a split screen of their Tablet PC and take notes either using digital ink or typing them in.
The project was a part of the Microsoft Imagine Cup. The designers are David Hayden, Michael Astrauskas, Qian Yan and Shashank Srinivas. Check out the video below and more here.
