Nook Color 1.2 Update with FroYo and Apps Hands On Video

Published

on

As we shared earlier, the Nook Color has a new update. We installed it and want to show you the update in a hands on video. The biggest improvement is the app store which will allow you to choose from 139 apps at the start. The app store has some interesting things, like Pulse News Reader and Angry Birds.

Nook Color App Store 1.2 Update Hands On Video

We checked out the app store and the offerings are pretty limited at this point. The interface is nice and we like how it shows what is already installed and even lets you open an app directly from the app store.

The browser is updated with both a mobile and desktop viewing mode. And the built-in email client is much better. The email client alone is worth the time to update.

Our editor Josh Smith showed you how to get the update manually. If you have rooted your Nook Color, them realize you will have to revert back to the stock version of Nook’s operating system before applying the update. Instructions for dong this are at the XDA Developer’s Forum. Also, this is only for the Nook Color, so owners of the little brother need not bother.
