T-Mobile G2 Gingerbread Update Rolling Out Soon

Earlier today, T-Mobile confirmed that the recently released LG G2x would be getting Gingerbread at some point in the near future and  the carrier has announced that the original G2 will be getting a bump to Android 2.3 in the near future as well.

We had previously heard that the G2 would be getting Gingerbread at some point this summer but it looks like it might come sooner with that, well, if T-Mobile’s interpretation of the word ‘soon’ is the same as ours.

T-Mobile’s tweet reveals almost nothing only saying that the update is “in progress” and that it’s “coming soon.” No dates, no release window, nada.

Gingerbread is currently only available on 3 devices including Google’s Nexus One and Nexus S and it started to roll out for Vodafone’s version of the Galaxy S until Google suspended it for unknown reasons.
