Don’t look now AT&T faithful but it looks like one of the best Android phones on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S II, might be headed your way at some point as the device just passed through the FCC with AT&T bands.

Samsung Galaxy S II

The recently released Samsung Galaxy S II (in Korea and the UK) has shown up with GSM 850/1900 MHz and WCDMA II and V bands which are compatible with AT&T’s 3G network. And with Samsung set to host not one but two events this month, the first one being today, it’s possible that we could see an announcement making this official.

Until today, the only American carrier that the Galaxy S II seemed destined for was T-Mobile so this is a welcomed surprise for not only AT&T owners but those in the U.S. hoping to get a hold of this phone in the months ahead.

For those that don’t know, the Galaxy S II is an absolute beast of a phone. It packs a 4.27-inch Super AMOLED Plus  (Gorilla Glass) display (480 x 800), 1.2GHz dual-core XMM6260 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8MP rear facing camera with 720p and 1080p video capture capabilities, 2MP front facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 1650 mAh LiIon battery.

Anyone on AT&T excited? Or are you still going to be picking up an iPhone 5 when it comes out in September?
